Our response to COVID-19

The safety and health of campers and staff has and will always be the highest priority at camp. With the potential spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) within the United States, we’re now reviewing and updating health-related plans and procedures.

Preventing the Spread

Wash hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol will be available in every room.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Encourage children to cover cough and sneezes in elbow.
  • We will operate under an “open door policy” all classroom doors will remain open to limit the touch of common surfaces.

Social Distancing Strategies

  •  We have decreased our maximum enrollment number from 40 campers to  30.
  • No more than 9 campers in each room.
  • 1:9 staff to camper ratio.
  • Only one group allowed per room.
  • Students starting after school on October 20th will be separated from our current students enrolled in SGI and are required to wear a mask.

Parent Drop off/Pick up

  • Parents will be required to stay in their vehicles and wait while the directors perform a camper health screen from the vehicle before checking in. Parents will not be required to sign students in, the directors will sign students in with their temperature at drop off. If a student has a temperature at or above 100.4 they will not be admitted into the facility. This will be performed via curbside.
  • Staff will sign students out daily. Parents will not be allowed to enter the building. In the event that parents need to enter the building, they MUST wear a mask, and stay 6ft away from campers and staff.

Screening Upon Arrival

  • Administration, (Aniya and Sherena) will take the temperatures of every staff member and child, upon entering the building. Children who have a fever or other signs of illness will not be admitted to the facility.
  • Campers and staff must wash their hands upon arrival.
  • Temperatures of campers and staff will be taken again midday.

Healthy Hygiene Practices

  • All children, staff, and volunteers should  engage in hand hygiene at the following times:
    • Arrival to the facility and after breaks
    • Before and after preparing food or drinks
    • Before and after eating or handling food
    • Before and after administering medication or medical ointment
    • After using the restroom
    • After coming in contact with bodily fluid
    • After playing outdoors or in sand
    • After handling garbage
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20  seconds.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Hand Sanitizer stations will be available in every classroom.
  • Administration will disinfect classrooms after each group leaves.
  • Our building will go under a deep clean nightly, this includes sanitizing all toys, games, common touched surfaces, desk, tables, chairs, etc.

Registration/Refund

  • In the event, where we do not operate, registration payments will be refunded in full via Cash app or mailed via check.
  • If your child is currently enrolled, and plans have changed due to COVID-19, you may request a refund. Please notify an administrator.
  • In the event where there is a government shutdown and camps are unable to operate. Parents will be refunded if they have paid for the following week and/or prorated if the government shut down occurs mid-week.
